Two Alumna Artists Exhibit in the Beard & Weil Galleries

In separate shows, two of Wheaton's alumna-Squidge Liljeblad Davis '65 and Judith Nulty '66- exhibit their work in the Beard & Weil Galleries from October 16 ? November 14. An opening reception will be held on October 16 at 7:00 p.m. with a slide talk by Davis in Ellison Lecture in Watson Fine Arts followed by a reception, gallery viewing and informal gallery talk by both artists.

Squidge Liljeblad Davis, director of Starflower Farm and Studios and its principle teacher, has studied with numerous world class potters and holds a B.A. in Literature and an M.F.A. in Sculpture. She has been resident artist for the State of Maine since 1978 and in that capacity has taught thousands of individuals the joy of creative process through the vehicle of clay. Awarded the Studio Potter Foundation Award >=in recognition of excellence, innovation and commitment to education in the ceramic arts?, she is a gifted teacher as well as an accomplished potter and sculptor. She has taught and shown her work nationally and internationally. Davis, a 1965 graduate of Wheaton has titled her exhibition >=My Woods-sculpture and drawings by Squidge Liljeblad Davis?

Judith Nulty whose work is featured in numerous private and public collections, including the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. and the Wheaton College collection is a 1966 graduate of Wheaton College. Nulty's show is titled >=Drawings? and features her recent body of work including both painting and drawings.
