Esteemed Boston pianist to perform Beethoven Sonata Series

[NORTON, September 29, 2003]Wheaton College is proud to present celebrated pianist and noted Beethoven scholar, Victor Rosenbaum on Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. in Cole Memorial Chapel. The recital is sponsored by the Evelyn Danzig Haas '39 Visiting Artist Program and will be performed as part of a series of events throughout the year in celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of Mr. Rosenbaum's acclaimed 1973 Jordan Hall debut with the same program. The sonatas- Op. 109, 110, and 11- are Rosenbaum's signature pieces. The recital is open to the public without charge.
Mr. Rosenbaum has appeared in solo and chamber music recitals in the U.S., Brazil, Japan, China, Israel, Taiwan, and Russia. He has been soloist with the
Indianapolis and Atlanta symphonies and the Boston Pops, has performed with the Vermeer and Cleveland quartets and appeared with such artists as Leonard Rose and Arnold Steinhardt. He has been a member of the faculty of New England Conservatory since 1967 and was Director of the Longy School of Music from 1985 to 2001.
