Worldfest at Wheaton sponsors an evening of Irish and Appalachian music

Wheaton proudly presents a coffee house style performance of Irish and Appalachian traditional fiddle-guitar music featuring Mick Daly from Cork, Ireland, guitar, banjo and voice and Anna Falkenau from Wesleyan, Connecticut, fiddle and voice on Thursday, March 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Woolley Room of Mary Lyon Hall. The concert is open to the public without charge.

Mick and Anna have recorded together for several years in Ireland where in addition to playing Irish traditional music they have a bluegrass string band that plays Appalachian music from the Southern United States. Falkenau is currently enrolled in graduate studies in ethnomusicology at Wesleyan and Daly works as a performer, teacher and sound engineer in Cork.
