'A Midsummer Night's Dream' opens Wheaton's new center for the arts

'A Midsummer Night's Dream' is the opening production in Wheaton's new Weber Theatre, an intimate, state-of-the-art space for theatre, dance and music performances, in the newly renovated Watson Performing Arts Center.

Join Puck, Bottom and company for a classic comic ride through bush and briar in William Shakespeare's magical and maddening night in the moonlit woods, April 18-20 and April 25-27. Directed by Associate Professor of Theatre, David Fox, 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' will be performed Thursday, Friday & Saturday evening, April 18, 19 & 20, 25, 26 & 27 at 7:30 p.m. The special opening night performance on April 18 will begin at 8 p.m.

Tickets may be purchased at the door, and are $5 for general admission and $2 for students and seniors. Wheaton's $20 million arts facility is the new home for the arts in southeastern Massachusetts. The new and renovated buildings include an array of new spaces for the performance, enjoyment and display of the arts. The renovation of Watson includes the establishment of the Beard Gallery and the Weber Theatre. Those spaces are complemented by the Kresge Experimental Theatre and the Davis Art Court in the nearby Mars Arts and Humanities building.
