Wheaton Chamber Orchestra plays spring concert

WHEATON CHAMBER ORCHESTRA PERFORMS SPRING CONCERT
The Wheaton Chamber Orchestra will play its annual spring concert on Friday, May 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Cole Memorial Chapel. The concert will be directed by Joseph Bono. Featured soloists for the performance will be violinists Jesse Kurn, '01, Sara Hoffman, '03, cellists Jillian Lay, '01, and Zarina Irkaeva, a member of the Wheaton music department faculty.
The program for the evening will include the '' Double Cello Concierto '' by Vivaldi, the ''Ashokaw Farewell Theme '' from the television Civil War documentary and the ''Aria from Suite no.3'' by Johann Sebastian Bach.
The Wheaton Chamber Orchestra is comprised of Wheaton students and faculty, adults from surrounding communities and advanced high school students from the area. Joseph Bono, conductor and music director, is a retired music educator. A student of Victor Polatsheck, principle clarinetist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Mr.Bono has performed at numerous solo recitals and has been a member of the Attleboro Civic Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Bono holds degrees from the New England Conservatory, with honors, and Bridgewater State College, with additional graduate studies at Boston University.
