Study Abroad - Lymin' Lyons

Wheaton's study abroad programs and courses transform students' perspectives on music and inspire new programming on campus. One exciting example is the biennial January Trinidad course, led by Professor Julie Searles, which takes students to the pan yards and Calypso tents of Trinidad and Tobago.

Inspired by the trips to Trinidad and by a visit from the Trinidad steel pan band Pamberi to Wheaton, students collaborated with Julie to create Wheaton's own steelband on campus, the Lymin' Lyons, seen here in a collaborative performance on a recent trip to Trinidad.
