Welcome to the New Sciences Liaison!

PeterThe Library's new Research and Instruction Liaison for the Sciences, Peter Kirlew, joined the LIS staff on November 16th.

As the Sciences Liaison, Peter is a primary point of contact for LIS academic services to faculty and students in all science disciplines. A member of the Research and Instruction Liaison Team, he provides research consultations, instructional services, and information resource development for the sciences, and assists in implementing appropriate educational systems and technologies that support teaching, learning and scholarship.

Before joining the staff at Wheaton College, Peter was the Biosciences Librarian at the University of Minnesota, where he provided instruction, reference, collection management, and liaison services for biochemistry, several biosciences, and biosystems engineering. He also served as the Reference Librarian for the Sciences and Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University, and completed academic science library internships at MIT and Brown University.

Peter has a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Cincinnati, a MLIS from the University of Rhode Island, a MS in Agronomy/Soil Science from Cornell University, and a BS in Chemistry from the University of Miami.
