Technology Orientation
In conjuction with Human Resources, LIS Technology Support is responsible for coordinating all your technology needs in anticipation of new staff and faculty arrivals. After all your technology needs have been established, a technology orientation session is scheduled.
TechHelp Training
LIS Technology Support has put together a series of training classes available to faculty and staff, covering a multitude of topics such as computing safety, e-mail, Meeting Maker, and much more! We're even planning on tailoring a few classes based on input from you! To register for one of the following classes go to the Learning Garden Registration Site.

| 6/5/2008 | Inspiration (Mind Mapping) (Flow Charting) | Inspiration is a powerful tool people can use to plan, research and complete projects successfully. With the integrated Diagram and Outline Views, they create graphic organizers and expand topics into writing. This powerful combination encourages organization in multiple modes. As a result, people gain and retain a better understanding of concepts and organizational structures. This class will give people instruction in the use of Inspiration and how to apply it to everyday work tasks and special projects. |
| 6/19/2008 | Digital Cameras and Your Computer | You've got a digital camera and you're using it to take pictures, great! - now what? How do you get the photos to your computer? What if you want them printed to give to family/friends or to put in an album? In this class we'll cover: connecting the camera to a PC or Mac; transferring photos to your computer, jump drive, CD, smart card, etc.; using iPhoto (Mac); storing on PC; deleting photos from the camera/card reader; backing up photos; and sending photo requests to be printed at CVS, Walgreens, or other.We'll have a couple of digital cameras on hand, but feel free to bring your own (don't forget the cable that connects the camera to your computer, since they're not all the same)! |
