Posted on September 4, 2012

The History Department is pleased to welcome a number of new and returning faculty members this fall.

We welcome Associate Professor Yuen-Gen Liang back from his research leave last spring. We also congratulate him on achieving tenure and promotion.

We have a number of new faculty members this fall.

Martin Fromm, Mellon Post-Doctoral Teaching Fellow, joins the department as a result of Professor Vipan Chandra's retirement last spring. Professor Fromm received his Ph.D. and M.Phil. from Columbia University, his M.A. from Stanford University, and his B.A. from Brown University. This semester, he is teaching a course entitled "Roots of China's Rise."

Jolanta Komornicka joins the department as Visiting Instructor of History. She is teaching a course called "Traitors, Heretics, and Witches."

Michael Mezzano returns this semester as Visiting Instructor of History. He is teaching two courses: History 102: Development of Modern Europe since 1789; and History 370: European Radical Movements.

And finally, Robin McGill, Visiting Instructor of Classics, is teaching History 100: Ancient Western History.

Welcome all!
