Research and experience

As a pre-health student, it is critical for you to undertake health-related experiences throughout your undergraduate years. Internship, research, and volunteer opportunities help you clarify your future plans through “real world” experiences. In addition, these experiences are pivotal, along with strong grades and test scores, to your successfully applying for graduate and professional programs. There are a wide range of experiences to pursue, including part-time, local volunteer opportunities that you may want to take on during the school year, as well as full-time summer experiences, both in the US and abroad.

The links below provide great information. And, remember that many summer programs have very early application deadlines, as early as December or January.

While many Wheaton students pursue opportunities listed below, other Wheaton students work with the Filene Center staff to uncover experiences that may be closer to home or more in line with their specific interests.
