Michael Sawyer

Visiting Instructor of Political Science

Michael Sawyer is currently completing a PhD at Brown University in the Department of Africans Studies where he is also earning a MA in Comparative Literature. His work focuses on questions of sovereignty and its relationship to the divine and the profane. He has published on W.E.B. Du Bois (Callaloo) a single authored essay, "The Du Boisian V[v]evil[s] Reexamined" and is a co-editor with B. Anthony Bogues of a Reader on Black Political Thought (Pluto Press).
