Main Interests

I am available to discuss student writing concerns at any point in the writing process. I have a background in English as a Second Language and intercultural communication. Recognizing the various ways that thinking, reading, and writing are related, I see great value in exploring ideas with students in order to deepen revision.

English as a Second Language, college writing in multicultural contexts, immigrant and refugee students, "Generation 1.5"

Teaching Interests

Other Interests

In addition to college teaching, I have been involved in refugee resettlement work and community-based adult basic education. I also write poetry, fiction, and essays, some of which explore relationships between culture and the environment.
