Main Interests

  • Using the visual elements within the medium of theatre to support and expand the communal art of stroytelling
  • Helping students find their individual voices as storytellers.

  • Appalachain theatre and storytelling
  • Costume and fashion as historical benchmark
  • The Arts in rural communities

 

Teaching Interests

Currently teaching Introduction to Design and Intermediate Design. Also dedicated to providing students with opportunities to develop the technical skills of a designer which complement the creative process of the discipline.

Created a first-year seminar entitled Fit for a Queen: The Fashionable and Formidable. The course focuses on specific individuals from western culture who manipulated fashion and to place themselves in powerful positions in society, and examines how image contributes to political or social notoriety.
