Student Alumnae Building Interior
In Evans’ photographs of SAB’s Game Room and Yellow Parlor one can view the minimalist designs employed for the interior of the Modernist building through the geometric forms and lack of ornate decoration. In Evans’ photograph of the Alumnae Parlor one can see the manner in which Modernist and traditional decor was merged within SAB. Evans also captures the essence of Plimpton Hall in his photographs. This space was located at the east wing of SAB, and it exemplified the International Style inside and out. As one can see from the perfect rows of shiny chairs in the hall, functionality was a major attribute of the space’s interior design.
