Snow parking restrictions and campus safety
Posted on February 16, 2015
Forecasters are predicting three to five inches of snow for Tuesday, Feb. 17.
This means that parking restrictions will remain in effect until Wednesday at 6 p.m., to aid in the increasingly difficult task of snow removal.
Towing at the owners expense will be enforced, if necessary. (See the restrictions map for details.)
We want everyone to be safe. Buildings and grounds crews are working hard to deal with the snow and ice. However, we urge you to be aware of the potential of falling ice, slippery pathways and roads, and other unsafe conditions.
>> Roads and paths will remain slippery in spots, due to drifting snow and icing caused by below-freezing temperatures expected throughout the week.
>> High snow banks restrict motorist and pedestrian visibility so please exercise caution when walking and driving.
>> In some cases, specific building entrances will be closed due to the hazard of falling snow and ice. Please respect these closings and remain alert to the general hazard.
>> Below-average winter temperatures will continue throughout the week, presenting the potential for hypothermia and frostbite due to prolonged exposure. When outside, it is important to dress warmly and in layers. More information is available from the Centers for Disease Control.
