Preparing for a winter storm

Posted on February 6, 2013

A major winter storm is expected to hit southern New England on Friday, and the National Weather Service has issued a blizzard watch for eastern Massachusetts. Light snowfall is expected to begin by late Friday morning, intensify in the afternoon and continue into Saturday morning, bringing 12 to 24 inches of snow and strong winds, according to the National Weather Service.

The college has begun making preparations for the storm, and as always, the safety of our students, faculty and staff is our utmost concern. Please be aware that travel may not be safe from Friday noon to Saturday afternoon, and plan accordingly.

The college will likely have further announcements by Thursday evening concerning any special plans, parking advisories or rescheduled events. You can also check Wheaton’s homepage for the most up-to-date information:

We advise members of the campus community to use precautions during the inclement weather and to report any problems or safety issues to Wheaton Public Safety at 508-286-8213 or 508-285-5051.
