Licensure
Licensure Procedures:
Following their graduation, seniors who have successfully completed one of our three licensure programs (secondary, elementary or early childhood) log onto the site above (ELAR) to register for their INITIAL TEACHING LICENSE.
Please note: When registering for licensure, you will be asked to send a copy of your official transcript and a licensure fee. Official transcripts are available through the Wheaton Registrar after graduation. Please call the Registrar's Office or consult their website for information and procedures for obtaining copies of your transcript.
MTEL (Massachusetts Tests for Teacher Licensure) Test Preparation and Registration
MTEL Test Preparation:
- MTEL Website: contains information for the current program year. Candidates can now register for all test dates for the the current program year on the MTEL Web site. Complete services and information, including this year's MTEL Registration Bulletin, are also available on the MTEL Web site. New in 2006, is the ability to order a scannable MTEL Registration Form on the Web site. Candidates who wish to register by mail can now order a scannable MTEL Registration Form on the Web and then easily complete it using information on the MTEL Web site. Candidates are also able to order the complete bulletin on the Web site.

MTEL Test Registration:
Log onto the site (by following this link) to register for all MTEL tests. This site is updated frequently so be sure to check for test preparation materials and test taking tips.
Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education regulations for Teacher Licensure change yearly as do education requirements and forms.
