Elaine Yuan '13 and Geovanny Reyes '14

During the spring semester of 2014, Professor Mary Lee Griffin and her student partners, Elaine Yuan and Geovanny Reyes, offered a six-week course in Mindfulness to first, second and fourth grade students at Paul Cuffee Charter School in Providence, Rhode Island.  The six-week course involves young students in exploring mindfulness, or present moment, nonjudgmental awareness, as it impacts their literacy learning and their lives.  This was the second mindfulness course Mary Lee and her students have offered to Paul Cuffee students, and she hopes to return to this diverse vibrant school community next year.
