Procedures for Securing Temporary Accommodations

In the event that a student experiences a temporary disability that restricts the student's ability to carry out the normal day-to-day functions required of a student temporary short -term accommodations can be provided with adequate documentation.

Examples of temporary disabilities

  • Injury
  • Surgery or recovery from surgery
  • Chronic illness

Procedures for requesting accommodations

  • Contact Dean Wilhelm at x8215 to make an appointment to discuss possible accommodations which is decided on a case-by-case basis.
  • Submit documentation that describes the nature of the disability from your physician. The documentation must be on official letterhead and have an original signature. Faxed copies are acceptable.
  • Maintain communication with your professors to make up any work in case of absences directly related to the temporary disability.
