Copy Center Printing Services

The Press

The Copy Center is currently equipped with a Risograph GR 3750 single-color high-speed-duplicator, a Minolta, DP750 high-speed copier and, a Dialta Color CF-2002 color printer and photo-duplicator. Maximum paper size on all three machines is 11 x 17.

They are not intended to meet all of the college's printing needs. Printing that cannot be handled in-house is subcontracted to an outside printer at very affordable rates.

Color Printing

The Dialta Color CF-2002 has full color capability and can handle electronic, as well as photo-ready items. Electronic images can be sent as an attachment to an electronic mail message to, colorprint@wheatonma.edu. Most electronic formats can be printed including, Adobe pdf, Photoshop psd, Microsoft Publisher, and a variety of image formats such as .jpg, .gif., and tiff.

The Risograph can print in the following ink colors: black, medium blue, burgundy, bright red, federal blue, light blue, brown, teal, and purple.

In addition, a variety of color paper stock is available.

Requesting Printing

To request a print job, submit a Print Request Form along with a master copy of the material you would like printed. We would be happy to consult with you about a printing job before you are ready to submit it and while it is in a draft stage.

The Copy Center uses only camera-ready masters formatted exactly the way you would like the final version to appear. The master should be clean, dark and on white paper to ensure the best results.

Request for printing forms are available in the Copy Center for anyone wishing to have printing done on campus. All information must be properly filled out to ensure the job is printed the way you would like. Department organization numbers must appear on all requisitions. The requisition form and the material to be printed should then be taken to the Copy Center. You will be notified by the Copy Center staff when the job is completed.

Student clubs and organizations that would like to have printing done in the Copy Center, must first have the request for printing form approved by the Student Banker.

Scheduling Work

Due to the volume and variety of the work, it is important that you schedule your work as far in advance as possible. The Copy Center is subject to the peak work cycles of all of the offices on campus. We understand that emergencies occasionally do arise, and we will do our best to accommodate those situations, but we cannot guarantee that unscheduled work will be completed on time.

Please do not translate early turn around time on one job to mean early turn around time on all jobs. The more aware we are of upcoming projects, the more effectively we can serve you. As a rule of thumb, notify the Copy Center as soon as you are aware of an upcoming printing job. This gives us the opportunity to plan other work around that particular job.

Post-print Processing

The Copy Center provides three post-print processes (services) for free when we print the material (otherwise there is a charge for these services):

  • Folding: single sheets, in half or in thirds
  • Collating: single, unfolded sheets
  • Stapling: two or more unfolded sheets
All printed material that is to be sent through campus mail must either be folded or stapled. Single sheets must be folded in half or in thirds, two or more sheets must be stapled together.
