Class of 2013
From: Pittsfield, MA
Did you come to Wheaton knowing you wanted to major in Computer Science?
I didn't have any clue what I'd be majoring in at Wheaton. I had taken a couple CS classes in high school, so I decided to try out the intro course here. I loved every minute of it, so I stuck with it.
What has been the most interesting class you've taken in the Computer Science Curriculum?
I've found Artificial Intelligence to be the most interesting class I've taken so far. I learned about a lot of interesting concepts and algorithms that I might never have thought about without the class, and AI remains one of the topics I'm most interested in following.
What is your favorite programming language and why?
It depends on what I'm trying to accomplish. For rapid development and less complex problems, I'm a big fan of Python. However, I like the control that C++ offers for larger projects.
What are your plans for after graduation?
Right now I'm planning on going to grad school for computer science. I'd like to further my education before seeking a career. My hope is that I'll discover my own little niche in the field that I can continue on into after obtaining a higher degree.
