English 101 Section B23. Writing About Images and Ideas

Every day we encounter a waterfall of visual information. How do we make sense of what we see? How do we translate “seeing” into “saying”? In this course, we will analyze and interpret visual and verbal texts of many kinds, including advertisements, photographs, art exhibits, films, web pages, landscapes and cityscapes. The writing process, including inventing, drafting, and revising will be emphasized through class activities, peer reviews, and individual conferences with the instructor.
