Introduction to Nutrition

Understanding the elements of good nutrition is essential for a healthy lifestyle. Students will explore the fundamentals of nutrition in relation to daily life and health issues such as dieting, exercise, weight control, eating disorders, heart disease, cancer, the safety of food additives, genetically modified foods, and food availability from a socioeconomic perspective. No prerequisites. Three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory each week.
