Finding an Internship
Maximize your summers with internship experiences in which you can explore your interests and test out various careers. Internships provide opportunities for you to apply your academic learning outside the classroom, build your resume, and gain and strengthen skills for work and life beyond Wheaton.
Get Started Early! Securing an internship requires advanced planning. Many desirable internships and summer jobs require labor-intensive applications and have early deadlines. Creating a job/internship search timeline will also help to ensure your success.
First, you'll want to identify what you want to do. A conversation with a career advisor can be very helpful. Then, develop potential internship sites using some of our favorite internship search sites. If your desired internship does not pay, compete for a summer fellowship.
Most students participate in internships during the summer, although some students will arrange an internship or educationally meaningful job during the academic year. A number of Wheaton courses include fieldwork/internship components.
