“The connections I made and support I received from Wheaton alums during my own career transition years ago led me unexpectedly into a new, entirely different career:  the world of career coaching, which quickly became and remains to this day, 15 years later, my dream career.”  Laura Kaynor Powers, Class of ‘79

Welcome, Wheaton Alums! I’m delighted to be a resource to you as a Wheaton Alumnae/i Career Coach and look forward to our work together.  For the past 15 years, I’ve helped hundreds of clients –

job seekers from diverse backgrounds and career stages – run successful job search campaigns, market themselves with confidence, and find satisfying new work opportunities. I work with clients individually and in groups, both virtually (via telephone and the web) and in-person at my offices in Westchester, Stamford, CT and Manhattan.

Take a look at some of my coaching programs below (as well as 2 Special Gifts for Wheaton alums):

“Find Fabulous Work” My Signature program, provides job seekers a blueprint for job search success and in-depth training on the key components of a successful job search:  self and career assessment, defining work objectives, researching and identifying target markets and target organizations, resume development, networking and other search strategies; interviewing, negotiating and offer evaluation.

“Defining What’s Next: A Career Changer’s Guide” An assessment-rich program for career changers that will help them to clarify their skills, abilities, likes, dislikes, interests, passions, and career goals.

“Reframing Your Talent: Job Search Techniques for Returning Professionals” A program designed to meet the unique needs of professionals returning to the paid work force.

“Jump Start Your Job Search” For job seekers who feel ‘stuck’ in their job search process and are disappointed in their results. Program includes a thorough assessment of job search campaign activity, feedback and recommendations, and an action plan toward improved results.

“Your Job Search Inner Game” Addresses the range of emotion experienced during job transition and offers concrete strategies to effectively manage the emotional ups and downs of the job search process.
