Wheaton's Pratt earns ECAC Swimmer-of-the-Week accoladeJanuary 17, 2007
A junior, Pratt won six of the eight events she entered during a pair of meets last week. On Thursday against visiting Brandeis University, she won the 50-yard freestyle in 24.94 by 1.25 seconds over the second-place finisher, the 200 free in 2:03.41 by 3.03 ticks over the next swimmer, and the 100-yard butterfly in 1:02.32. Pratt swam leadoff for the 400-yard free relay quartet that won in 3:48.83, finishing 10.46 seconds ahead of the next team and 13.66 ticks in front of the closest foursome from another school. Against New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) foes Connecticut College and Trinity College on Saturday, Pratt tied for the 50-yard freestyle crown in 25.21 while helping the victorious 400-yard medley relay team to a time of 4:09.28. She also helped the 200 free relay quartet to a runner-up finish by coming within 1.25 seconds of first and swam to a third-place showing in the 100-yard butterfly. The Lyons have an 11-3 dual record with four chances remaining to tie the school mark of 12 wins, which was set last year. Wheaton returns to action today at Bridgewater State College at 6:00 p.m. This page is maintained by Scott Dietz. Last updated on 2/21/07. |
