Roberts adds another All-America award to decorated career

HOUSTON, TX- Senior Barrett Roberts (Portland, ME/Deering) added another All-America performance to his decorated Wheaton College swimming career Thursday night at the NCAA Division III Championship, finishing fourth in the 50-yard freestyle among 47 competing athletes at the University of Houston's Campus Recreation Fitness and Wellness Center Natatorium.

Roberts, who tied for fifth in the event during his sophomore season, made his fourth straight national championship appearance memorable with another school record. Roberts bettered his previous mark of 20.48 by 0.12 seconds in the preliminaries, as his time of 20.36 was good enough for second overall. In the finals, he finished in 20.44.

Leading his team to a tie for 23rd through day one's six events, Roberts is scheduled to compete in the 200 free tomorrow and the 100 free on Saturday. Roberts is now a five-time All-American, earning three honors in the 50-yard free and two in the 100.
