Harlow earns fifth ECAC track honor of school year, second for outdoorApril 18, 2007
Harlow continued her high jump dominance by winning that event and the long jump on Saturday at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell's Davis Invitational. The national indoor champ's high jump of 5' 8" was tops in the nation this outdoor season, set a meet record by two inches, beat the runner up by five inches and automatically qualified her for the NCAA Championship. Harlow's long jump win came thanks to a distance of 17' 1 1/4" in her first competition in the event - indoors or outdoors - since last April's 29 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship. She beat out seven Division II competitors and leaped five-and-a-half inches further than the second-place jumper. Harlow also won the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 15.05, which was 0.02 faster than the runner up, and helped the 4x100-meter relay team to victory in 49.33, a showing that was 0.53 ticks better than the second-place quartet. Both Wheaton teams return to action on Saturday at Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) Coed Invitational. This page is maintained by Scott Dietz. Last updated on 4/18/07. |
