James continues torrid pace with ECAC Track Athlete-of-the-Week laurels

NORTON, MA- Wheaton College women's track and field standout Amber James (Woodbury, MN/Woodbury) continued her torrid pace this past weekend and for it was awarded with Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Track Athlete-of-the-Week laurels for the fourth time this season. She earned the award for the week ending on Sunday, April 11.

For the second consecutive week, James bested the field in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, this time coming at the Columbia University Invitational held in New York City. James recorded an NCAA Division III national meet automatic qualifying time in the 200M in 24.41.

After posting a provisional qualifying performance in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.27, James anchored the provisional-qualifying 4x100-meter relay team to a runner-up finish in 48.26. The Columbia Invitational was a non-scoring meet.

James and the three-time defending national champion Lyons will next turn their attention to the Husky Invitational this Saturday at Northeastern University in Dedham.
