Munley draws D3baseball.com All-America honorable mention accolade

NORTON, MA- Wheaton College baseball sophomore Sean Munley (Trenton, NJ/The Hun School of Princeton) has been chosen as one of 20 D3baseball.com All-America honorable mention selections, earning his third postseason award this spring.
Munley was one of two designated hitters to draw an honorable mention accolade, receiving his first national honor after also earning recognition from the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) and New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) following a productive season for the Lyons.
Wheaton's starting DH and cleanup hitter in all 42 games, Munley batted .391 with team highs of 53 RBI and 30 walks while also scoring 33 runs, hitting 15 doubles and swatting four home runs. He struck out just 15 times in 161 at bats. His RBI total is the fourth best in Wheaton history, and he ranks sixth in walks and on-base percentage (.477), tied for seventh in doubles and sacrifice flies (4), and 10th in batting average. Munley is already tied for ninth in program history with 53 career bases on balls and is approaching Wheaton's top 10 in RBI.
The Blue and White posted a 30-12 mark in 2009, going 9-3 in NEWMAC play while earning a share of the regular season title, its 10th in the league's 11-year history. Wheaton was ranked 24th nationally in the latest D3baseball.com poll and seventh in the region by the NEIBA.
