Women's Swimming & Diving (9-6-1) Athletes Earn Program's First All-America Honors
The Wheaton College women's swimming & diving team earned the first national placement in the program's 18-year history when the four-day NCAA Division III Championship came to an end on Saturday, tying for 48th among 58 scoring teams at the University of Minnesota. On Thursday, sophomores Samantha Farrell (Reading, MA/Reading Memorial), Stephany Perkins (Monmouth, ME/Monmouth Academy), Dania Piscetta (Belmont, NH/Belmont) and Nicole Zais (Sudbury, MA/Lincoln-Sudbury Regional) combined for the first All-America finish in program history, taking 14th in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The quartet also took part in the 200-yard medley, 400 free and 800 free relays at the championship. Individually, Piscetta swam the 100-yard butterfly, 100 free and 200-yard individual medley, while Zais contested the 50 free and 100- and 200-yard breaststrokes.
