NORTON, MA- A trio of Wheaton College men's tennis players combined to earn a pair of New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) weekly accolades for the week ending on Sunday, March 15, as sophomore Harry Altman (Riverdale, NY/The Dwight School) was named singles player of the week, while junior James Little (Mount Desert, ME/Mount Desert Island) and freshman Neall Oliver (Portland, ME/Deering) were the doubles team of the week. Little was lauded with his second career weekly doubles honor, while Altman and Oliver both drew their first award.

Altman went 3-0 last week in helping Wheaton finish up its spring trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina, with a 2-2 record. The sophomore downed fifth-singles foes from Ithaca College, 6-4, 6-4 and Malone University, 6-3, 6-3 while notching a 6-3, 1-6, 10-8 triumph against a counterpart from the University of Charleston. Altman improved to 4-3 this school year, as he is one win shy of the team lead.

Wheaton's tandem of Little and Oliver went 2-1 last week, suffering a narrow loss in the top slot for its only setback. They picked up a 9-7 win over Ithaca on Monday in the second position before downing a Malone duo, 8-3 at the second slot on Wednesday. The pair dropped an 8-6 decision against Charleston while competing in the first position on Tuesday. At 4-3, Little and Oliver are the winningest doubles tandem on the team this school year.

At 2-3, the Lyons open the northern portion of their schedule on Tuesday at Bridgewater State College. The match is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
