Women's 4×400M relay hits NCAA mark as Wheaton teams compete at BU

BOSTON, MA- The Wheaton College men's and women's track & field teams returned to Boston University for the second time during the indoor season this weekend, as the Lyons finished competition Saturday at the Valentine Invitational at BU's Track and Tennis Center.
Senior Natana Jules (Brooklyn, NY/Boys and Girls), junior Renee Thompson (Hartford, CT/Weaver) and freshmen Lauren Cardarelli (Cranston, RI/La Salle Academy) and Didine Jusme (Providence, RI/Classical) highlighted the two-day meet by reaching an NCAA Championship provisional time in the 4×400-meter relay. The quartet took seventh out of 35 teams in 3:55.65, as three of the top six teams hailed from Division I schools.
In the high jump, sophomore Erin Neville (North Providence, RI/La Salle Academy) tied with three others for ninth place at 5′ 2 1/4″.
On the men's side, freshman Cailean Robinson (Newton, MA/Phillips Exeter Academy) registered a 10th-place mark in the 200-meter dash in 22 seconds while joining seniors Brian Dundon (Mansfield, MA/Mansfield) and Michael Wright (Baldwin, NY/Uniondale) and freshman Kyle Ricci (Warwick, RI/Bishop Hendricken) in the 4×400-meter relay. With a time of 3:22.72, the Lyons were the seventh-fastest Division III squad.
Wright took 14th in the 200-meter dash, junior Michael Latner (Torrance, CA/West) finished 15th in the pole vault, while freshman Marcus Dennis (Hyde Park, MA/Thayer Academy) cracked the top 20 by placing 17th in the triple jump.
Wheaton returns to the Boston area next Sunday for the USA Track & Field (USATF) New England Championship at Harvard University at 10:00 a.m.
