BUFFALO, NY- Despite giving way to additional scoring by a second Keuka College team routine, the smaller Wheaton College synchronized swimming squad tied the Storm during Saturday's Canisius College Invitational at the Koessler Athletic Center Pool. The hosts won the meet with 90 points, while the Lyons and Keuka finished with 68 points apiece.

Wheaton's best showing during the routines-only competition came in the team category, as senior Sharada Strasmore (Weston, CT/Weston), juniors Laura Montes (San Juan, PR/Academia San Jose) and Jenna Swinkin (Hamden, CT/Hamden), and freshmen Christiana Butera (San Diego, CA/Academy of Our Lady of Peace), Amanda Chils (Lakeland, FL/George Jenkins), Rachel Cordo (Wayzata, MN/Wayzata) and Anastasia Hare (Buffalo, NY/Buffalo Seminary) claimed second place with 86.750 points.

The Lyons also recorded a pair of third-place finishes, with Montes contributing to each in the solo and trio routines. Notching 84.500 points as a soloist, she was one point shy of the runner up from Keuka. In trio, Montes joined Butera and Chils to score 83.333 points.

Wheaton's second trio squad captured a fourth-place mark, with Cordo, Strasmore and Swinkin earning 81.500 points.
