The Wheaton College men's and women's swimming & diving teams completed their dual-meet schedules last week during a pair of road competitions. The Lyon women went 3-1, downing Bridgewater State College, 222-75 and Division II Bentley College, 172-127 during a double-dual meet in Waltham on Tuesday before defeating host Bates College, 172-120 on Saturday but falling to Tufts University, 183-116. At Bentley, sophomore Samantha Farrell (Reading, MA/Reading Memorial) won the 50-yard butterfly and 50-yard freestyle while leading off for the victorious 400 free relay team and anchoring the fastest 400-yard medley relay quartet. Joining Farrell in the 400 free were senior Caitlin Glover (Durham, NH/Berwick Academy) and sophomores Sara Hollar (La Crescenta, CA/Flintridge Prep) and Nicole Zais (Sudbury, MA/Lincoln-Sudbury Regional). Farrell and Zais sided with junior Iris Meehan (Bar Harbor, ME/Mount Desert Island) and sophomore Dania Piscetta (Belmont, NH/Belmont) during the 400 medley. Meehan, Piscetta and Zais won the 50-yard backstroke, 100 free and 50-yard breaststroke, respectively. A trio of freshmen won, with Taryn Brosnan (Westford, MA/Academy of Notre Dame) taking the 200 breast, Sarah Miller (Madison, NJ/Madison) topping the 500 free and Julia Wright (Pomfret, VT/Northfield Mount Hermon School) capturing the three-meter dive. For the men, sophomore Corey Best (Brentwood, TN/Ravenwood) won the 200 fly, while classmate Zach Fichman-Klein (North Attleboro, MA/North Attleboro) topped the 50 fly field.

During Wheaton's competition at Bates, Meehan and Zais each played a hand in two victories, including when the pair joined Farrell and Piscetta on the top 200 medley relay foursome. Zais also won the 50 breast, while Meehan took the 50 back. Glover and Farrell were second in the 50 back and 50 fly, respectively. Farrell, Piscetta, Zais and sophomore Stephany Perkins (Monmouth, ME/Monmouth Academy) came in second during the 200 free relay, while other runner-up finishers were Hollar in the 200 fly and Wright during the three-meter dive. On the men's side, sophomore Jonathan Gold (West Harrison, NY/Fordham Prep) notched a second-place showing during the three-meter dive while nabbing third in the one-meter event. Best and sophomore Ben Sabol (Saint Petersburg, FL/Shorecrest Prep) took third in the 200 fly and 50 back, respectively, while freshman Cole Larson-Whittaker (Penobscot, ME/George Stevens Academy) finished third during the 1,000 free.
