Men's and Women's Track & Field Athletes Post Top-10 Showings at Terrier Invitational

The Wheaton College men's and women's track & field teams competed on Friday and Saturday at Boston University's Terrier Invitational, where Lyon athletes posted a handful of top-10 showings.

Freshman Cailean Robinson (Newton, MA/Phillips Exeter Academy) missed an NCAA Championship provisional qualifying mark in the 55-meter dash by 0.03 seconds with a time of 6.50 during the preliminaries before placing seventh overall. Sophomore Mark Williamson (Vienna, VA/James Madison) turned in a fifth-place finish during the 200M, while the 4×400M relay squad came in 10th in 3:20.96, which was 2.36 seconds shy of an NCAA provisional standard. The quartet consisted of Robinson, Williamson, junior Merzudin Ibric (Revere, MA/Phillips Academy) and freshman Kyle Ricci (Warwick, RI/Bishop Hendricken). For the women, freshmen Ashley Dell'Aira (Shoreham, NY/Shoreham-Wading River) and Tope Waheed (East Providence, RI/East Providence) registered 10th-place marks in the triple jump and weight throw, respectively. The 4×400M relay team, comprised of senior Christine Moreau (Lincoln, RI/Lincoln), junior Renee Thompson (Hartford, CT/Weaver) and freshmen Lauren Cardarelli (Cranston, RI/La Salle Academy) and Didine Jusme (Providence, RI/Classical), took 16th in 3:59.55, which was 1.15 seconds shy of meeting an NCAA provisional time.
