Men's and Women's Cross Country Complete Seasons at NCAA Regional Championship

The Wheaton College men's and women's cross country teams completed their 2008 campaigns at the NCAA Division III New England Championship on Saturday, when senior Lauren Reddy (Walnut Creek, CA/Carondelet) earned an all-region honor for the second straight season. The Lyon women took 15th out of 49 scoring squads, while the men were 25th out of 49.

Reddy, who drew All-New England accolades by placing among the top 35, was 24th out of 330 runners in 23:43 and narrowly came up short of qualifying for the NCAA Championship. Classmate Lily Calderwood (Harvard, MA/Bromfield School) came in 49th, while senior Amanda Rawson (Dudley, MA/Shepherd Hill Regional) was 71st. On the men's side, sophomore Nick Kacher (Waltham, MA/Waltham) was the lone Lyon among the top third of the 331 finishers, coming in 92nd.
