NORTON, MA- Wheaton College women's swimming & diving standout Stephany Perkins (Monmouth, ME/Monmouth Academy) was named New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Swimmer of the Week after contributing to four event victories against league foe Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on Saturday.

During Wheaton's lone meet of the week, which resulted in a narrow 12-point home loss to the Engineers, the sophomore captured the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events while swimming the second leg on the victorious 200-yard freestyle and medley relay races. The 200 medley relay finished 0.47 seconds ahead of an MIT quartet, and the 200 free relay touched the wall just 0.45 seconds in front of an Engineer team.

Perkins and the 2-1 Lyons return to Balfour Natatorium on Saturday to face New York University and conference opponent United States Coast Guard Academy in a double-dual meet at 1:00 p.m.
