NORTON, MA- The Wheaton College men's and women's swimming & diving teams hosted New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) counterpart Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for the second time in eight days, with each Lyon team falling in Balfour Natatorium on Saturday.
The Wheaton and MIT women came within 12 points of each other for the third straight season, with the Engineers capturing a 156-144 decision today, while the MIT men posted a 165-95 triumph. The Lyons are now 2-1 on the women's side and 1-2 on the men's, and the Engineer squads were competing in their first dual meets of the season.

Perkins captured the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events, Zais won the 50-yard freestyle race, and each swam legs on the victorious 200-yard freestyle and medley relays. Sophomore Samantha Farrell (Reading, MA/Reading Memorial) was on both winning relays, junior Iris Meehan (Bar Harbor, ME/Mount Desert Island) swam the opening 200-yard medley relay leg in addition to finishing first in the 200-yard backstroke, and sophomore Dania Piscetta (Belmont, NH/Belmont) topped the competition in the 100-yard free while anchoring the 200 free relay.
Senior Caitlin Glover (Durham, NH/Berwick Academy) helped the hosts finish with eight event victories, edging out the runner up in the 100-yard backstroke by 0.08 ticks. On the springboard, sophomore Emma Chaiken (Bangor, ME/Bangor) was a mere 1.28 points behind the MIT winner on the three-meter platform during a runner-up showing, while freshman Julia Wright (Pomfret, VT/Northfield Mount Hermon School) took second in the one-meter dive.
