Men's and Women's Cross Country Run at NEWMAC Meet, Women Take Second

The Wheaton College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship on Saturday in Boston's Franklin Park, as the women were the runner up for the second straight year and for the fifth time since 2000, while the men took fifth. The Lyon women had a trio of all-conference finishers for the second consecutive fall and at least three for the fourth time in six seasons.

Seniors Lily Calderwood (Harvard, MA/Bromfield School), Amanda Rawson (Dudley, MA/Shepherd Hill Regional) and Lauren Reddy (Walnut Creek, CA/Carondelet) each earned all-conference accolades, which require a top-14 finish. Reddy was second in 18:41, marking the fourth straight season a Lyon was the runner up. Rawson and Reddy earned all-league honors for the second successive fall, with Rawson taking ninth, while Calderwood picked up her first accolade after placing 12th. Sophomore Erin Jaske (Highlands Ranch, CO/Rock Canyon) and freshmen Kimberly Nash (Tempe, AZ/McClintock) and Rachel Scavera (North Bend, OR/North Bend) took 29th, 38th and 46th, respectively. On the men's side, sophomore Matt Brousseau (Attleboro, MA/Attleboro) was the fastest Lyon, placing 23rd, while classmates Nick Kacher (Waltham, MA/Waltham) and Colin Fahey (Waltham, MA/Weston) were 31st and 49th, respectively.
