NORTON, MA- Wheaton College women's soccer standout Rosie Levy (Torrance, CA/Chadwick School) earned an ESPN The Magazine Academic College Division All-District I accolade for the first time in her career, as the junior was named to the third team. Qualifiers are selected to the teams by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), as at least one Lyon has now been chosen each year since 2002.

A first-year captain, Levy has started all 12 games in which she has played, posting five assists, but missed eight contests in the middle of the season for the fifth-ranked team in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's (NSCAA) New England poll. Wheaton is 15-4-1 overall and went 7-1-1 in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play, as the Lyons head into the league tournament as the second seed.

As a critical component to Wheaton's midfield, Levy helped the Lyons go 10-1-1 with 10 shutouts while allowing two goals in 1,101:02 during the 12 games she played. Each of her first two assists this fall came during 1-0 victories. In the eight games she missed, the Blue and White was 5-3 and yielded 12 markers.

Prior to missing action, Levy had appeared in 55 consecutive games, including being one of just two Lyons to see action in every contest during the 2006 and 2007 seasons. Last fall, Levy was a New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) All-New England pick. The history major earned Dean's List honors three times in her first four semesters.

Fresh off finishing at least tied for first place in the NEWMAC's regular season standings for the 10th consecutive season, Wheaton begins defense of its third straight league tournament crown, as it looks for its eighth title in nine years, when the Blue and White hosts seventh-seeded Mount Holyoke College on Saturday in a first-round contest at 1:00 p.m.

The District I College Division consists of all non-NCAA Division I colleges and universities in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont, and the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Quebec.

To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic standing, possess at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or significant reserve.
