Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams Have Best Showings of Season at Saints Invite

The Wheaton College men's and women's cross country teams had their best showings of the fall during Friday's Saints Invitational in Boston's Franklin Park, as the women topped a 13-team field and the men took second among 10 squads. Both teams take a week off before competing at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship on November 1.

Senior Lauren Reddy (Walnut Creek, CA/Carondelet) won her second race in three weeks thanks to a time of 19:03, coming in 17 seconds faster than the second-place runner. Classmates Amanda Rawson (Dudley, MA/Shepherd Hill Regional) and Lily Calderwood (Harvard, MA/Bromfield School) took third and fourth, respectively. Each of Wheaton's next four runners was among the top 14, as freshman Rachel Scavera (North Bend, OR/North Bend) placed ninth, senior Megan O'Sadnick (Evergreen, CO/Evergreen) was 11th, first-year Kimberly Nash (Tempe, AZ/McClintock) took 12th, and sophomore Erin Jaske (Highlands Ranch, CO/Rock Canyon) came in 14th. During his first race this fall, sophomore Nick Kacher (Waltham, MA/Waltham) placed sixth, while classmate Colin Fahey (Waltham, MA/Weston) was 10th. Senior Scott Hafferkamp (Merrimack, NH/Merrimack) took 14th, and freshman Todd Woodworth (Weston, MA/Middlesex School) crossed the finish line in 23rd.
