The Wheaton College field hockey team opened its New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) slate by falling at Mount Holyoke College, 2-0 on Saturday in its lone contest.

Wheaton held a 14-8 advantage in penalty corners, but the hosts edged the Blue and White in shots, 16-15 and scored both markers during the opening 9:15. Junior Andrea Bagley (Foxboro, MA/Foxboro) turned aside eight shots between the pipes.

In addition to standing first in assists, senior Alisa Ardito (Branford, CT/Branford) remained third in program history in points (75) and fourth in goals (24). She is three markers shy of third, while junior Alex Block's (Saratoga, CA/Saratoga) 17 goals leave her three short of the top 10.
