Jackson, Reavey earn NEILA regional men's lacrosse honorsMay 23, 2006 NORTON, MA- Wheaton College men's lacrosse standouts Taylor Jackson (Middlesex, VT/Union 32) and Ellis Reavey (Longmeadow, MA/Longmeadow) have each been named to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Division III All-New England second team for the first time in their careers. Jackson and Reavey, two of the Lyons' three senior captains, completed their careers among just seven Pilgrim League players named to the first and second teams, which incorporated 28 athletes. The duo comprised one third of the six-member second team midfield. As one of just three Wheaton players to start all 17 games this spring, Jackson recorded career highs of 31 goals and 39 points after posting 28 goals and 40 points in his first 39 career games over three seasons. Jackson, who earned his second Pilgrim League All-Conference selection this season, tied for ninth in the conference in goals while tying for second on the team in markers and placing third in points. He also netted five man-up tallies and recorded three-plus points seven times while notching six hat tricks. Reavey finished his senior year with career highs in goals (34), assists (9) and points (43) while netting six man-up markers and three game-winners. A Pilgrim League All-Conference pick, Reavey tied for sixth in the league in goals while leading the Lyons in markers and placing second in points. He completed his career with 110 points and is among Wheaton's top 10 with 88 career tallies. Reavey was held without a goal on only two occasions this spring. At 9-7-1, Wheaton finished off one of the most successful seasons in program history by advancing to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament championship game for the first time. After going 6-2 in the Pilgrim League, the Lyons qualified for their first Pilgrim League Tournament since 1998. This page is maintained by Scott Dietz. Last updated on 1/30/07. |
