Trio of Wheaton men's lacrosse players named Pilgrim All-AcademicMay 9, 2006 NORTON, MA- Three Wheaton College men's lacrosse players earned Pilgrim League Academic All-Conference laurels, as junior Taylor Palmer (Cross River, NY/John Jay) led the way with his third career selection. Senior Taylor Jackson (Middlesex, VT/Union 32) placed on the team for the second straight year, while sophomore Chris Hart (Center Harbor, NH/New Hampton School) was honored during his initial season of college lacrosse. Honorees must follow a certain criteria to qualify, including having a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or better upon completion of the 2005 fall semester and participating on the varsity team for the entire season. Palmer has been a solid contributor in Wheaton's midfield, appearing in 13 of the Lyons' 15 games thus far after overcoming a season-ending knee injury in 2005. He has corralled 21 ground balls and scored his first career goal on just his second career shot against Clark University on April 26. Jackson earned Pilgrim League All-Conference first teams honors and has started all 15 games, posting career highs with 26 goals and 34 points. Against Pilgrim teams, Jackson notched 21 goals and 27 points, and he has five hat tricks this season. In his first year playing for Wheaton, Hart has seen time in three games at midfield, recording a ground ball against Norwich University on April 22. Hart also saw action during home contests with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Clark University. This page is maintained by Scott Dietz. Last updated on 1/30/07. |
