Wheaton's men's lacrosse boasts four players on Pilgrim League teamsMay 8, 2006 BABSON PARK, MA- The Wheaton College men's lacrosse team added to an eventful day that has already included a bid to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament, as the Lyons had four of their players voted to the Pilgrim League All-Conference teams during Monday's postseason coaches meeting at Babson College. Senior midfielders Taylor Jackson (Middlesex, VT/Union 32) and Ellis Reavey (Longmeadow, MA/Longmeadow) were tabbed with first-team honors, with Jackson picking up the accolade for the second successive season, while senior attack Adam Cohen (Montpelier, VT/Montpelier) and junior defender Chris Hade (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Dwight-Englewood School) were named to the second squad. Cohen, Hade and Reavey collected all-conference honors for the first time in their careers. Jackson, who is one of just four players to have started in all 15 games, has already posted career highs with 26 goals and 34 points. Standing tied for second on the team in goals and third in points, Jackson did most of his damage against Pilgrim teams. He tallied team highs of 21 goals and 27 points during Wheaton's eight regular season games. Jackson has recorded three-plus points six times and notched five hat tricks. Reavey has also turned in the most productive season of his career, leading the Lyons with 29 goals while placing second with 36 points. Reavey also hit a milestone, reaching his 100th career point in the regular season finale. During conference action, he amassed 20 goals and 25 points, and registered a hat trick against league champion Springfield College in last week's tournament game. Reavey has added a pair of game-winning tallies, both of which came in league play, and scored goals in 13 contests. Cohen has helped lead the Lyon offense with career highs of 26 goals, 13 assists and 39 points, with his assist and point totals ranking first on the team. Tallying four hat tricks thus far, Cohen has recorded at least one point in 13 games. He has started in all 15 Wheaton games while posting multiple-point efforts in 13 of those contests. Cohen has also picked up a career-high 15 ground balls for the Blue and White. Hade, who has the task of marking Wheaton's opponents' top attacker, has anchored the Pilgrim's third-best defense. The Lyons are on pace to record one of their top defensive efforts in program history, currently allowing just 8.53 goals per game. Hade has also accumulated 48 ground balls, which ranks third on the squad. Wheaton's all-conference winners look to help the Lyons extend their season Wednesday afternoon with an ECAC Tournament home game against the University of Massachusetts at Boston. Selected as the second seed in the ECAC Tournament, the Blue and White posted an 8-6-1 record after qualifying for its first Pilgrim League Tournament since 1998 with a 6-2 conference mark.
