School record, NCAA qualifiers highlight weekend at Terrier ClassicJanuary 28, 2006 BOSTON, MA- Sophomore Megan Brousseau (Attleboro, MA/Attleboro) broke a seven-year-old school record, and junior Jennifer Harlow (East Bridgewater, MA/East Bridgewater) and freshman Jonathan Cunha (Lexington, MA/Lexington) each met NCAA Division III Championship provisional qualifying standards to highlight the Wheaton College men's and women's indoor track and field teams' participation in the non-scoring Terrier Classic at Boston University's Track and Tennis Center over the weekend. Brousseau's school record came in the 3,000-meter run, as her time of 10:16.65 was 6.98 seconds better than the former mark established during the 1999 season. Harlow met provisional qualification for the NCAA Championship meet with a 5' 5 3/4" leap in the high jump, tying for the second-best height at the meet. Freshman Chizoba Ezeigwe (Brockton, MA/Thayer Academy) turned in a 10th-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.38, while sophomore Joell Whitley (Magnolia, NJ/Triton Regional) ran the 55-meter dash in 7.55, just 0.22 seconds off an NCAA Championship provisional qualifying time. For the men, Cunha finished 10th in the 400-meter dash, completing the race in 48.74 and meeting the NCAA Championship qualifying minimum. His time was just 0.67 seconds behind the top collegian in the meet. With a time of 7.99 during the 55-meter hurdles, Cunha was 0.20 seconds shy of matching a school record. Senior Ajay Sisodia (Andover, MA/Andover) turned in an 11th-place showing in 1:05.09 during the 500-meter dash, coming within 0.13 seconds of a Wheaton standard, while he, Cunha, and freshmen Victor Martinez (Exeter, NH/Phillips Exeter Academy) and Michael Wright (Baldwin, NY/Uniondale) combined to place 12th in the 4x400-meter relay in 3:22.67. Each of Wheaton's squads returns to action next weekend at the Armory Invitational, held at the New York City Armory on Friday and Saturday. This page is maintained by Scott Dietz.
