Professor Torres wins NECLAS 2011 Best Article Award

The New England Council of Latin American Studies awarded its 2011 Best Article Prize to an article co-authored by Professor Torres. Precursors to Femicide: Guatemalan Women in a Vortex of Violence by David Carey, Jr and M. Gabriela Torres published in the Latin American Research Review, vol. 45, no. 3 was recognized by the committee as "an important contribution to Latin American gender history and our current understandings of post-war violence against Guatemalan women".
