Where did you grow up?

North St. Paul, Minnesota, and
Williamstown, Mass.

What are your travel territories?

Western Mass., Idaho, Minnesota, Asia and Latin America

What has been your most thrilling adventure?

My most thrilling adventure was a trip that I took to Africa. While there, I was on safari in three different game parks and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain on the African continent.

If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be, and why?

I would love to have dinner with President Lyndon B. Johnson. I studied him in college and find him to be a fascinating figure. As a leader in civil rights and social welfare legislation in the 1960s, I would like to know how he felt as the U.S. agenda shifted away from these issues due to the war in Vietnam.

What is your favorite quote?

"Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius and magic in it." Goethe

What was the most memorable news story in your lifetime?

I follow the news, particularly political issues, very closely so there have been many memorable stories in my lifetime. A nonpolitical story that stands out for me is the assassination of John Lennon. As a Beatles fan and a teenager at the time he was shot, I was distressed by the injustice and the loss of such a talented and dynamic person.

What is your favorite sport or game to play/watch?

I am an avid Boston Red Sox fan and watch as many games as possible, both on TV and at Fenway Park. Also, I love following the Tour de France.

First album you purchased for yourself?

"Toys In The Attic" by Aerosmith.
