Accomplishments FY2000
Communications Committee
- Designed a "welcome card" for new employees. This personalized note is given to each new employee inviting them to participate in staff council activities.
- Trips continued to be popular; NYC and Essex, CT
Employment Environment Committee
- The office clerical title was reviewed and changes were recommended from Fiscal Year 1999. The change was approved by the President and became effective January 1, 2000.
- The committee recommended changing the policy of vacation accrual for biweekly employees, with 10 years of service from 3 weeks to 4 weeks. This was approved and effective July 1, 2000.
- The committee reviewed the bereavement policy and recommended that it be changed to include other close family relatives.
- The committee recommended that open houses be re-established.
- Sick leave maximum balance and sick leave donation bank are items to be worked on in Fiscal year 2001.
Other Accomplishments
- Completion and approval from the administration of the staff salary plan
- Telecommuting policy was established
- Staff Council collaboration with senior management on ways to promote a more customer focused college.
